REQUESTS:

Amy’s Bookshelf Reviews has set a policy for accepting new review requests, and you have to have a referral code. However, it never hurts to email and ask for an exception to this rule, but keep in mind, the answer could still be no.

BOOKSHELVES:

Amy’s Bookshelf Reviews has set a policy for prioritizing reviews. Details for each of the bookshelves are on the bookshelf's section. UPDATE (4/2025): The cyclical motion policy for authors with more than one book on the bookshelf is back. The following book review requests and the bookshelves priority is as follows:

1- RELEASE DATE REVIEW REQUEST and EXPRESS RELEASE REVIEW REQUEST

2-CHILDREN'S BOOKS BOOKSHELF

3-TRUE CRIME TITLES

4- PRIORITY ACCESS BOOKSHELF (And Priority Access Lifetime Pass):

5- VIP LEGACY AUTHOR BOOKSHELF (and Lifetime Legacy Author Pass)

6-AUDIOBOOKS BOOKSHELF

ADDITIONAL BOOKSHELF: PODCAST

This is for guests of the show whose book has yet to be read and reviewed by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. The book review will get posted after the prerecording, most probably before the show's actual airing, unless it is scheduled to coincide with a release date. The podcast reviews get posted on Amazon, their publisher website (if listed), Amy's Bookshelf Reviews website, and shared on X.com and Facebook #ABSRpodcast

RELEASE DATE REVIEWS BOOKSHELF AND CALENDAR:

Reviews that have a scheduled release date, and Express Release Reviews. Reviews for and Blog Tour Review Dates. (Release Date Review Calendar)

MY PROCESS:

A review is posted, it takes about 60 minutes for the entire process to be complete for one review. (This time does not include the time it takes to read the book and write a review.) Amy’s Bookshelf Reviews does NOT accept payment for reviews. Amy’s Bookshelf Reviews reviews are unbiased and honest. Amy’s Bookshelf Reviews accepts donations or gift cards but not for the exchange of a specific type of review. Donations are NOT considered payment for providing a review and Amy’s Bookshelf Reviews DOES NOT allow the amount of the donation (if there is one) to influence the star rating in any way.

Amy’s Bookshelf Reviews is a proud supporter of the Indie Author Community.

"The secret of it all, is to write in the gush, the throb, the flood, of the moment – to put things down without deliberation – without worrying about their style – without waiting for a fit time or place. I always worked that way. I took the first scrap of paper, the first doorstep, the first desk,

PRIORITY ACCESS BOOKSHELF

The Priority Access Bookshelf is a carry over from the Priority Bookshelf. This bookshelf does not require a donation if someone is already on the list shown in the image to the left. There are several reasons why someone would be on this list, one is that they purchased a lifetime on the old Priority Bookshelf, and two, that the author was referred to Amy's Bookshelf Reviews by one of the publishers on the list.  A referred author or one who wants to be included on this bookshelf.  CYCLICAL MOTION:  When more than one author has a title on the bookshelf, once the first title is reviewed, the other titles get moved to the bottom of the bookshelf, and work their way back up.  (Author's titles are always grouped together, even if they make separate requests).

AUDIOBOOK BOOKSHELF

Amy’s Bookshelf Reviews does listen to and reviews audiobooks. If a print book has already been read, the posting of the audiobook review is a separate review, since there are other things to review such as narration. Audiobooks listed on Audible.com requires either a redemption code or a donation for the cost of the book. Spotify only allows a star rating, not a review posted. The link to the audiobook can be shared on Facebook, and the entire review posted for that date.   (If you select to purchase a Video review, with your permission a sample of the audiobook can be added to it). CYCLICAL MOTION:  When more than one author has a title on the bookshelf, once the first title is reviewed, the other titles get moved to the bottom of the bookshelf, and work their way back up.  (Author's titles are always grouped together, even if they make separate requests).
