Amy's Bookshelf Reviews will no longer accept any book review requests that have already been published. However, any book that is on any of the bookshelves in Amy's Library as of that date, will still be read, reviewed and the review posted. After this date, the only requests (not including exceptions) will be for Release Date and Express Release Date Review Requests.
The VIP Legacy Bookshelf and Standard New Author Bookshelf will remain until there are no titles left on those bookshelves.
Deadline for any author who wants to contribute to the Amy's Best Reads Project. I anticipate this book being published (free to everyone once published) to be released by February 1 2024.
Release Date Reviews: Still require a 2-month advanced request.
Express Release Date Reviews: The donation and posting dates are the same.
Posting Dates: Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sundays ONLY if there is a release date review request. Holidays listed HERE will not be posted, and if there is a release date, it will be posted the next posting day.
Many of you are aware of my health issues, and I do not want to stop reading and reviewing all together, but this is the best option for me.
Audiobooks. The audiobook shelf will remain. I will accept requests for audiobooks that have been released at any point, if I have read the print book. If there is an accompanying print book, and I haven't read it yet, that is a special request.
Other exceptions
It's on an author-to-author basis. There may be times when I will make an exception, such as any of my clients that I do work for (past or present), such as publishing, editing and/or formatting. Those clients will receive a review from Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. There will still be a Special Requests Bookshelf, and there will be a minimum donation of $25 to be on that shelf (for those who do not have upcoming releases). (Another exception would be for those authors who have a book series, and the book that will be released is a volume of the book after Volume 1. (I need to read all the books in the series leading up to the one that will be released).
A Special Request Pass can be purchased by either a new or a legacy author, to always have a place on this bookshelf, as long as Amy's Bookshelf Reviews is still in business. The cost for a Special Request Pass is $150, so if you're interested in one, (and think about how many books you write and want reviewed by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews) email amysbookshelfreviews@gmail.com You will be invoiced for the Pass from Essence Enterprise's PayPal account, and once payment is received you will receive the pass. (Nontransferable).
Other Exceptions: I choose to be included on a blog tour, and will post a review during that time. I am on several publisher's influencer and review teams, and I will continue to review for these publishers. Sometimes, when I receive an email notification about a publisher's upcoming release, I will request to read and review that book.
I like to send congratulations emails to authors that I follow either on Amazon, their newsletter or the publisher's newsletters. So, if you want a review after you get one of those letters, that is also an exception. You don't need to get a review from me, if you don't want to.
There will a new bookshelf, called Rapid Review Request. This shelf is another special request shelf, but it allows the requestor to have their book read, reviewed, and the review posted within a specific amount of time. The donation requirements are similar to “Express Release Reviews,” but this applies to books that have been published within the past years’ time.
· Rapid Review Grand Request: 15 posting days to 28 posting days- $50 (US)
· Rapid Review Select Request: 6 days to 14 days before - $75 (US)
· Rapid Review Choice Request: 1 day to 5 posting dates -$100 (US)
· Rapid Review Prompt Request: Less than 24 hours - $150.00 (US)
I have been reading all my life, and I have been professionally reviewing books since 2014, not just those authors who have requested a book review, but those books that I have read for personal entertainment or professional research while working on my own projects.
This is not the only change in my professional career that I am making, and in looking at what I am going through personally, I will be publishing all of my books that have been published, but unpublished, or have never been published. I am not making any big release announcements, I just want all of my work to get out there to be able to have a written legacy of my stories. In March, I am publishing my first nonfiction, historical book about my hometown's history. This will be the book that I am most proud of, and that I will do whatever I can to promote and maybe become "famous" in my home town.
For all you authors that I have reviewed for, please still send me your requests until December 1. Whatever is on my bookshelves, I will read and review, but not take any new author requests after that. There may be some cases, where I will make exceptions. I am slower at reading now, and it takes me longer to read a book, write the review and then post it, while trying to get to everyone's book. If your book is on a bookshelf of mine, you will get it read and reviewed, and posted.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. I will always do my best to help authors, and be there when they need me, as much as I can. amysbookshelfreviews@gmail.com
